On May 25, 2023, the "Congress Center" of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Russian Federation hosted the General Annual Meeting of the Russian Union of Tanners and Shoemakers (RSCO). The event was attended by the representative of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation Ruslan Naniyev, Head of the Department of Industry, Energy and Ecology of the Analytical Center under the Government of the Russian Federation Grigoriy Mikryukov, Deputy Head of the ANO Roskachestvo Olga Shanayeva, members of the RSCO. Shebekinskaya industrialnaya khimiya, LLC, being a member of the RSCO, takes an annual part in this event. The RSCO annually carries out a lot of work aimed at the development of the leather and shoe industry. Igor Surin, President of the RSCO, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Russkaya kozha, JSC, outlined the main current problems of the industry: difficulties with obtaining chemicals, problems with logistics, lack of quality guarantees as a side effect of the parallel import, the absence of certain types of equipment. The most "acute" issue is the issue of providing chemicals used in the leather production, including through import substitution. Leather and everything related to its production is included in the latest package of sanctions (export-import of leather, equipment, technologies and chemicals). At the same time, today the government registration is needed for new chemicals, which takes time (2-3 months) and costs, which negatively affects production. The lack of raw hides leads to an increase in prices, especially for high-quality raw hides.Within the framework of the RSCO General Annual Meeting, the report on the work of the Union in 2022 was approved and the main activities and work plan of the Union for 2023-2024 were outlined.
