Testing “Dowell” acrylic impregnation agents for the article with impregnation.

     “Dowell” acrylic impregnation agents have been tested in the article with impregnation at one of the Russian tanneries. A combination of three products was tried:

• «Dowellic RA 1861» - ultra-fine acrylic resin with good penetrating ability, especially for impregnation of leather, which keep softness and tightness of the leather without forming a film on the grain; easy to buff. In combination with «Dowellic RA1863» or «Dowellic RA1865», the impregnation efficiency is improved and the tendency to looseness in loose areas is eliminated;
• «Dowellic RA 1863» - very fine-dispersed acrylic resin with good penetrating ability for impregnation of corrected grain leather, which ensures good leather characteristics after impregnation; makes the grain tight.  In combination with «Dowellic RA1861», it effectively solves the problem of looseness and keeps  its softness. It is recommended for use in the base coat as an adhesion component in the finishing of garment, furniture articles, and soft nappa leather;
• «Dowellic RA 1865» - fine-dispersed acrylic resin with good permeability for impregnation of corrected grain leather, which forms a colourless, transparent, soft film slightly sticky to the touch. It provides tightness, fullness, easy buffing after impregnation.

Impregnation was used to prevent and eliminate leather looseness for shoe tight articles. The result of the trials is positive. Chemicals have been ordered for extended trials.
