Testing recipe of easily draping leather.

       A technological visit was fulfilled at a Belarusian tannery to test a recipe for easily draping leather. The following chemicals were used:

• «Dowelltan RE-17» - an acrylic resin-based retanning agent that fills the leather, gives softness and elasticity, provides heat and light resistance of crust, suitable for articles with milling;
• «Dowelltan RD-23» - a retanning agent based on acrylic resin, which fills grain well, giving the leather resistance to mechanical damage and high elasticity;
• «SMH-478» – a concentrated fat liquor for fat liquoring of chrome vegetable and mixed tanned leathers, used for soft filled articles, recommended for use in mixtures to give softness and natural touch;
• «SMH-6» - an electrolyte–resistant lecithin-based fat liquor for "warm" silky touch, used for particularly soft leathers, as well as mixed with synthetic and natural fat liquors of SMH-series for all types of leathers.

The obtained crust was positively evaluated. After milling in the drum, the leather was soft, but not rag-like, with fine and medium grain after milling, and there was no looseness. It was also noted that the flesh side was "velvety".

One sample leather was finished using DOWELL chemicals (China) with the lacquer CFIN LW 2000.  The following chemicals were used:

• «DOWELLEX RC 3060» - a soft compound for finishing leathers for various purposes: for shoe, lining, clothing, leather goods leathers;
• «DOWELLIC RA 1106»  - ultra-soft acrylic binder, easy to polish, does not overload the grain, giving pleasant touch;
• «DOWELLIU NU 2580»  - a non-ionic polyurethane dispersion that improves adhesion, provides an elegant sheen to the coating and gives it softness, smoothness and pleasant touch when applied by spray to soft leathers.

The finishing was also positively evaluated. An order was received as a result of the visit.
