Finishing of shoe and leather goods articles using Dowell chemicals,(China).

        Finishing trials were carried out at the tannery. Shoe and leather goods articles were made using Dowell chemicals (China): white article "Sport", article "Crack", "Wax nubuck".

1.White article "Sport"- the task was to demonstrate light finishing for a white article with high physical and mechanical properties, light and heat stability, with fine embossing. Dowell products (China) were used in the recipe:

• RC 3345 –lightfast covering compound;
• RU 2113 – aliphatic adhesion urethane;
• RA 1300 – acrylic resin of medium softness with excellent frost resistance, used for articles requiring high resistance to dry and wet rubbing;
• TOP G 7218  — glossy urethane for top coating;
• TOP M 7228 — matte urethane for top coating.

The physical-mechanical analyses for adhesion, flexing, wet rubbing and light and heat resistance were good; good touch of the coating was noted, and the finished leather had a good grade.

2.The article "Crack" was positively evaluated: uniform cracking of the coating was noted, pleasant touch, high gloss, wet rub fastness analysis was within standard limits.

3. “Wax Nubuck”- an article without milling, with a pull-up effect, was positively evaluated.

The visit was conducted with positive results. Chemicals for extended trials were ordered.
