Shebekinskaya industrialnaya khimiya, LLC (Russia) is one of the sponsors of the club “Belgorod gragon”, which is situated on the base of the section of canoeing, kayak and dragon paddling of Shebekino sport school № 1. The head of the club “Belgorod dragon” is a canoeist Alexander Buzychkin who is a World champion in canoeing. In May on the Russian Cup the club’s team got five licenses for participating in the European Championship where ten men’s team took a bronze medal on 200 m and 500 m distances. To gather a youth team and a twenty men’s team are the nearest plans of the club development.

-DRUM provides rhythm to a team. When a boat is finishing it’s almost impossible to hear it so rowers must feel the rhythm themselves. A drummer must be light in order the boat has good moving. It’s very easy to fall down a bench, which is checked by “SportSmena”.
-STEERING OAR with the length of 3 m is made from wood or glass-fiber plastic. It weighs up to 3 kg. The one made from wood costs 3 000 roubles, from glass-fiber plastic – 6 500 roubles.
-STROKE OARSMEN are men of the greatest endurance in the team. They sit on the first thwart and set the pace to the rest of the rowers. Stronger rowers sit on the second and third thwarts. The dragon boat together with rowers weighs more than one ton.
-OARS are chosen in accordance with rowers’ height. Their length is 115-130 cm; blade width is up to 18 cm. They are superlight and are made from carbon. Each oar costs around 7 000 roubles. The oars mustn’t be fastened to the boat in accordance with the rules.
